Good News!, twice filmed by MGM, was one of the most successful stage shows of the 1920s. Its jazzy score and wild dance sequences kept the show on Broadway for more than 550 performances in 1927-1928. Good News! is the tale of life at Tait College in the northeastern United States, where football is the new rage. The show takes place on the weekend of the championship game, and if Tait can bring home the championship, great rolls of alumni money will follow. But star fullback Tom Marlow has flunked astronomy and his only chance at playing football is to pass a makeup exam. For help he turns to Connie Lane, an egghead who has no stomach for football. But Tom is in for more than astronomy help as a romantic love begins to bud, while at the same time his society girlfriend Patricia Bingham is already planning their wedding, even though Tom hasn't proposed. Two other romances complicate the plot on the eve of the big game: an old love affair gone wrong between Coach Johnson and astronomy professor Charlotte Kenyon, and the comic shenanigans of third-string player Bobby Randall and Babe O'Day, the girlfriend of the team's bruiser, Beef Saunders.

Good News! is shameless 1920's nostalgia and roaring good fun, bubbling with zesty dance routines, catchy old songs and over the top zaniness. The cast includes some of Huntington College's finest student, faculty and alumni actors:
