HU’s Professional Programs offered at discount to Parkview employees

HUNTINGTON, Ind. Huntington University is offering a discount to Parkview employees on all Professional Programs.

A 20 percent discount will be offered to all Parkview Health Systems employees who enroll in Professional Programs classes. Classes are offered in Huntington, Fort Wayne, Columbia City or online.

"Parkview Health has been an incredible partner to us through the Life Science Education and Research Consortium," said Shelly Francka, director of Professional Programs. "Providing a discount to their employees is one way we can express our gratitude as well as reinforce our support of additional education for health care professionals."

Huntington's Professional Programs provide online and evening classes tailored to the schedule of working adults. Onsite classes are held one night per week, one subject at a time. Through the program, students can earn associate degrees in Christian ministry and organizational management in addition to bachelor's degrees in business administration, human resource management, not-for-profit leadership, marketing, accounting and nursing (RN to BSN). A 15-credit hour TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) certificate is also available in an accelerated format.

Through Huntington's RN to BSN program, nurses can earn the degree that many hospitals are seeking in order to earn Magnet status. The American Nurses Credentialing Center bestows this status on hospitals who meet a variety of benchmarks related to patient care and the working environment for nurses. The credential is used to recruit top nursing candidates. See our flyer about discounts for Parkview nurses.

The Life Science Education and Research Consortium is a partnership with Parkview and other area institutions to offer classes on the Parkview Randallia campus. At the site, Huntington offers bachelor's degree programs in nursing, not-for-profit leadership and human resource management, a certificate in TESOL/EL and a master's degree program in counseling.
