JMC hosts Fall Work Day

Huntington, Ind. " Huntington College's Joe Mertz Center for Volunteer Service continues to reach out to the Huntington community. On Saturday, October 19, student, faculty and staff volunteers will scatter throughout the Huntington area for the annual Fall Work Day. The work day starts at 8:30 a.m. and runs through noon.

There are over ten sites chosen for the day of service, which include Forks of the Wabash, Dan Quayle Center, Kid's Kampus, Open Door, YMCA, Huntington Public Library, Love Inc., Huntington Headstart, Huntington House, and several individual homes.

Huntington College's Joe Mertz Center for Volunteer Service is a student-directed organization that mobilizes the campus community for Christian service. The Joe Mertz Center aims to involve students in the local community, instill a lifelong tendency toward service, and promote the idea that one person can make a difference. The Joe Mertz Center has been listed as an exemplary program in the John Templeton Foundation Honor Roll of Character-Building Colleges.
