Jones to speak at October Foundation Breakfast

Huntington, Ind. " Dr. Karen Jones, assistant professor of educational ministries at Huntington College, will make her first appearance before a breakfast audience to present the educational ministries program at HC on Wednesday, October 8, at the monthly Foundation Breakfast. Jones will highlight the PRIME (Practical Research through Immersion and Ministry Evaluation) experience that all students in this program are required to participate. The public is cordially invited to attend. Breakfast will be served at 7:45 a.m., in the Habecker Dining Commons. The program will conclude by 9:00 a.m. The cost of the breakfast is $6 per person. First-time guests are not charged. The breakfast meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month, September through May. Dr. Karen Jones earned her BS and MS degrees from Southwest Missouri State University and her PhD and MA degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. She has over 15 years of experience working with youth ministers in churches. Jones serves on the advisory board of the Youth Workers Journal and recently completed a youth discipleship resource book on using spiritual gifts in ministry and service for a new Lifeway curriculum line called Vital Skills. Lifeway also published a chapter she wrote entitled Discipleship in one of their resource books last spring. Recently, she served as the project coordinator and worship speaker for a World Changers project in Cheyenne, Wyo., and recently completed a curriculum resource piece for the North American Mission Board on Leadership for Short-Term Mission Projects. In addition to the manual, Jones wrote the teaching guide and constructed a power point presentation to be used in training team leaders.
