Longaker Honors Recital to showcase musicians

Huntington, Ind. "The Annual Longaker Honors Recital will be held on Friday, March 24, 2006, at 7:30 p.m. in the Zurcher Auditorium of the Merillat Centre for the Arts.

The Annual Longaker Honors Recital features talented young musicians of the Huntington University Music Department chosen in a rigorous audition process. The recital program will feature three piano selections, three vocalists and one trombonist.

Junior trombonist Aaron Eberly, an instrumental music education major from Ligonier, Ind., will perform Sonata Vox Gabrieli by Stjepan Sulek.





Bethany Goodwin

Freshman soprano Bethany Goodwin, a choral music education major from Fort Wayne, Ind., will sing A Nun Takes the Veil Op. 13, The Secrets of the Old Op. 13, No. 2, and Sure on this Shining Night, Op. 13, No. 3 by Samuel Barber.

Junior mezzo soprano Toni Thomas, a contemporary church music major from Markle, Ind., will perform Cuatro Madrigales Amatorios by Joaquin Rodrigo, and sophomore mezzo soprano Emily Unger, a choral music education major from Hammond, Ind., will sing Through The Sunny Garden, and The Valley And The Hill from Two September Songs, Op. 18.

Sophomore Annie Feldpausch, an economics and finance major from Saint Johns, Mich., and junior Jolene Gipe, a piano music performance major from Columbia City, Ind., will perform a two piano duo of Danse Macabre, Op. 40 by Camille Saint Saens.

Sophomore pianist Mark Stonitsch, a mathematics major from Minooka, Ill., will perform Prelude in G Minor, Op. 23, No. 5 by Sergei Rachmaninoff.

Freshman pianist Alicia Pyle, a music performance major from Fort Wayne, Ind., will play Rhapsody No. 2 in G minor, Op. 79 by Johannes Brahms.
