Marion, Miller acknowledged with August Peer Awards
FOR RELEASE: Tuesday, August 15, 2006
Huntington, Ind.-Cindy Kreps, financial aid secretary and loan processor, passed the Peer Award to Sandy Marion. Marion is the admissions receptionist and has been with Huntington University for eight years. In recognizing Marion, Kreps said, "Sandy has such a great outgoing personality. She is the first person visitors meet when they arrive in the Admissions Office. She is organized and always willing to help where she is needed. She is the person who answers the 1-800 phone line and takes lots of grief from Sharon and myself when those transfer calls become overwhelming. Sandy has such a positive outlook and keeps us all smiling when days become stressful. I know we all appreciate her hard work and dedication."
Dr. Ruth Nalliah, associate professor of chemistry, passed the Peer Award to Dr. Kevin Miller. Miller is assistant professor of communication and has been with Huntington University for four years.
In recognizing Miller, Nalliah commented, "It has been a pleasure having Kevin as an office neighbor while he graciously waits for some permanent office space. It is clearly evident that Kevin is a hard-working colleague who puts enormous effort into teaching and mentoring students in journalism activities as well as professional development. As the director of the Core Curriculum Committee, Kevin works in an incredibly organized manner, making it easier for colleagues on the Core Committee by distributing background materials well in advance and establishing open communication about issues in the Core Curriculum. Kevin enhances Huntington University in general by bringing fresh and innovative ideas to the table. Being able to accomplish these things, while amiably sharing an office suite with laboratory chemists, definitely calls for the Peer Award."
