McElhaney, Smith tapped for November Peer Awards

Beth Dubois passed the Peer Award to Alicia McElhaney. McElhaney was recently hired full time as the program coordinator in the EXCEL office.
In presenting the award to McElhaney, Dubois said, Alicia is a person who is always willing to give of her time and talents to help both students and coworkers alike. She is pleasant and cheerful as you interact with her and always seems to have a smile on her face. She has a heart for others and a servant-like attitude that she displays both on and off campus. She is very efficient and always looks for ways to improve processes.

Jule McKanna passed the Peer Award to Martha Smith. Smith is the assistant dean of Student Development and director of career development & counseling and has worked at the University for 17 years.
In recognizing Smith, McKanna said, I have chosen Martha Smith to receive this month's Peer Award because of her dedication to the students of Huntington University. Martha's sacrificial love of students runs deep and is expressed in many ways. She counsels, encourages, teaches, and walks alongside. Her work as a career counselor has helped hundreds of students identify their calling and learn the job search related skills needed to gain employment. She has led student groups on trips across the country. Martha's work has also been awarded by her peers on a national level.
