Dr. Mary Ruthi, professor of sociology, passed the Peer Award to Dr. Jack Heller. Heller is assistant professor of English and has been with the university for five years.

In recognizing Heller, Mary said, "Dr. Heller is a dedicated teacher who is enthusiastic about sharing his love of writing and literature. I have been impressed by the amount of time and effort that he puts into grading his students' papers. He is never too busy to talk with students and to answer their questions. I also admire Dr. Heller's efforts to increase students' interest in literature by taking them to theatre productions, especially Shakespeare plays. Another way in which Dr. Heller connects with students is through his fondness for music, particularly the works of Bob Dylan. Dr. Heller always has a smile and a kind word for everyone who passes his way. He is a valued colleague who deserves to be recognized for his contributions to Huntington University."
