Quinn Dyar to present theatre project, ‘Sans Y’

Huntington, Ind.-Cassandra Quinn Dyar will present "Sans Y" as her senior theatre project at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 16 in the Studio Theatre of Huntington University's Merillat Centre for the Arts. There is no admission charge, and the event is open to the public.
Quinn Dyar, a theatre performance and sociology major from Bedford, Ind., has chosen to center her project on womanhood and has selected a variety of pieces that "illuminate both the grit and the glory of living in this world as a woman." She hopes that she can both touch hearts and challenge minds with her project.
"I wanted an array of works that touch on the joys, sorrows, challenges and victories of womanhood, and ultimately humanity as a whole," Quinn Dyar said.

A monologue from "Fences" by August Wilson
Two scenes from "The Dining Room" by Albert Ramsdell Gurney
"The Most Massive Woman Wins," a short play by Madeleine George
A scene from "Lives of Great Waitresses" by Nina Shengold
"Audition," a monologue by Jane Martin
An excerpt from "The Search for Intelligent Life in the Universe," a one-woman show by Jane Wagner and Lily Tomlin
A scene from "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown," a musical by Clark Gesner
A monologue from "Two Gentleman of Verona" by William Shakespeare
A monologue from "The Last Days of Judas Iscariot" by Stephen Adly Guirgis
The project has been in the making for almost a year and is a culmination of a significant amount of time and hard work.
"Working on this project has been a fascinating and rewarding journey, and I am very excited to finally be able to bring others alongside to share in that journey through my performance," Quinn Dyar said.
