Symphonic Band, Jazz Ensemble to perform free concert

HUNTINGTON, Ind. Join the Huntington University Symphonic Band and Jazz Ensemble for a free concert at 7:30 p.m. April 30 in the Zurcher Auditorium of the Merillat Centre for the Arts on campus.

The symphonic band, under the direction of Dr. Robert Lynn, will perform pieces that will include their feature piece, "Othello" by Alfred Reed (an exciting romantic work based on the Shakespeare play); a known piece, "Raiders March" by John Williams (this is the main theme from the Indiana Jones movies); and an old classic/standard/warhorse "English Folk Song Suite" by Ralph Vaughan Williams (who is well-known among band people).

Members of the Jazz Ensemble include Huntington University students, Gage Waltz, saxophone; Johanna Caron, flute; Aaron Carlson, percussion; Connor Maggart, bass; Lee Waltz, guitar; Aaron Tremain, aux. percussion; and directed by Eric Clancy of Fort Wayne.
