“The Wiz of the West” at Merillat Centre Feb. 5

HUNTINGTON, IN- The Missoula Children's Theatre will present "The Wiz of the West" starring local schoolchildren on February 5 at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. in the Merillat Centre for the Arts. Since 1970, the Missoula Children's Theatre has provided professional drama with a unique style of production. Two MCT staff will visit Huntington for a week, during which time the performers for the upcoming performance will be selected. Approximately fifty local children will be cast in the show. After a week of intensive rehearsal, a professional-quality performance of "The Wiz of the West" will be given.
Auditions for roles will be held on February 1 from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Merillat Centre for the Arts. Auditions are open to area schoolchildren, kindergarten through twelfth grade. Rehearsals will be held daily from 4 to 8:30 p.m. All cast members are not required at every rehearsal session.
Performances will be given on February 5 at 3 p.m. and at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $6 for all seats, with a $2 discount available to students and seniors. For ticket reservations or further information, contact the Merillat Centre for the Arts box office at (260) 359-4261.
"The Wiz of the West" will be the group's third performance at the Merillat Centre. The event is partially funded by ECOLAB Foundation and Pediatric Medical Group.
