HUNTINGTON, Ind. The Huntington University Peer Award recipients for February are Beth West, education department secretary, and Deb James, financial aid secretary.
West
was recognized by Pam Rudy, administrative assistant to the vice
president for business and finance, because of the tireless work that
she does for students.
"She is very much appreciated by the
students and faculty in the education department and has worked
tirelessly to help provide a peaceful working and learning environment
for them," Rudy said. "Her willingness to do what it takes for our
accreditation process and her attention to detail are just a few of the
things that make her stand out among the rest."
James was
recognized by Sara Baldwin, graduate and Professional Programs
admissions consultant, for her patience and kindness in working with
fellow employees.
"Deb James has been a huge help to me in my
first year at Huntington University," Baldwin said. "Deb and I work
together frequently to coordinate the financial needs of prospective
students. She is always patient and kind with me even when I've called
her for the fifth time that day to ask a question or get an update on a
specific student. She puts a lot of time and care into her work with
students and makes their start at Huntington University a great
experience."
The Peer Award, which began in 2003, promotes
acknowledgment and recognition of the outstanding efforts of Huntington
University faculty and staff members. Award winners are chosen and
recognized each month by fellow peers.
