Winter, Perry receive September Peer Awards

Huntington, Ind.-Peer Award recipients for the month of September are Dr. Margaret Winter and Nathan Perry.

Winter, the director of nursing program and assistant professor of nursing, received the award from Dave Pearson, maintenance technician. In her two years at Huntington University, Pearson noted Winter's patience. She has dealt with the remodeling of the lower level of the Science Hall and has been on top of letting the maintenance staff know what needs attention.

Pearson also noted Winter's passion for the nursing program.

"In the times I have spent with Margaret in conversation," Pearson said, "her passion for nursing has been made clear and evident. The excitement that Margaret and her staff have brought to our campus has spilled over to me as well as many others here at Huntington University."

Nathan Perry, director of undergraduate admissions, received the Peer Award from Amy Mattox, the director of graduate admissions and marketing. Perry has been at Huntington University for nine years and worked with Mattox when she was admissions counselor for four of those years.

"Last August," Mattox said, "I transitioned into the role of director of graduate admissions and marketing which is a more 'equivalent' role to Nate's. The transition has been a challenging one, and Nate has been there to encourage me every step of the way."
