Woods, Evans recognized with March Peer Awards

Huntington, Ind. "Recipients of the Huntington University Peer Award for the month of March are Mrs. Sharon Woods and Dr. Bruce Evans. Sharon Woods, left, receives the Peer Award from Karol Caley.
Karol Caley, Admissions office manager, passed the Peer Award to Sharon Woods. Woods is the director of financial aid and has been with Huntington University for 19 years.
In recognizing Woods, Caley said, Sharon Woods has been a wonderful person to work with. She has overcome a lot in her life, and God has truly blessed her in many ways. Sharon has been a faithful friend and employee to the University. It is very evident that God is No. 1 in her life. She always has a very upbeat outlook on life and will put others before herself. It is and always will be a joy and a pleasure to work with Sharon on a daily basis.

Kevin Vanden Akker, athletic trainer and instructor in physical education, passed the Peer Award to Dr. Bruce Evans. As professor of biology, Evans has been with Huntington University for 15 years.
In recognizing Evans, Vanden Akker said, Bruce is a dedicated faculty member that truly has the best interests of the students in mind. He constantly strives to integrate his faith with instruction both in the classroom and out. He motivates the students to reach for their best and not settle for less. As a colleague, Bruce is willing to sit and exchange ideas, offer assistance, or be a sounding board. It is an honor to pass this Peer Award on to Bruce.
