Wust, Cherry acknowledged with March Peer Awards
FOR RELEASE: Thursday, March 6, 2008
Huntington, Ind.-Recipients of the Huntington University Peer Award for the month of March are Kristina Wust and Deb Cherry. Deb Springer, library secretary, passed the Peer Award to Kristina Wust. Wust is the cashier and has been with the university for one year.
In recognizing Wust, Springer said, "Kristina has enormous responsibilities in her position as cashier in the Business Office. We would all like to know how she keeps those debits and credits balanced! She receives deposits and disburses petty cash for all the offices on campus and interacts with the students as they take care of their financial obligations. She is always very efficient and cheerful and performs her duties with a servant's heart. Kristina has a positive attitude and always offers words of encouragement. I always feel blessed after talking to her. I love her big smile. Even though we don't work in the same building on campus, it is a pleasure to say I work with her at Huntington University."
Dr. Bruce Evans passes the Peer Award to Deb Cherry.
Dr. Bruce Evans, professor of biology, passed the Peer Award to Deb Cherry. Cherry is adjunct faculty in the Mathematics Department and has been with the university for 12 years.
In recognizing Cherry, Evans wrote, "Deb has been teaching in math at HU for many years, and she does an excellent job in serving students who need some help in getting up to speed so that they can succeed. Deb has a wonderful spirit of cheerfulness that always brightens my day. Every time I see Deb, she is smiling and has a kind word. She represents the best of HU, humbly doing her best in the place that God has put her and reflecting a kind, gentle and encouraging spirit of Christ in all she does. Thanks, Deb!"
