Yost, Gower receive September Peer Awards
FOR RELEASE: Monday, September 11, 2006
Huntington, Ind.-Recipients of the Huntington University Peer Award for the month of September are Jan Yost and Wendy Gower. Admissions Receptionist Sandy Marion passed the peer award to Jan Yost. Yost is the data management coordinator and has been with Huntington University for eight years.
In recognizing Yost, Marion said, "Jan is very helpful and friendly. She is the person that I call when I need to use Advancement Office's printer for various printing jobs. Jan is always more than willing to let me know when the printer is available and if there is enough paper in it. She has a great sense of humor which makes the phone calls a fun part of the job. I appreciate Jan's eagerness to help and her great personality."
Assistant Professor of Communication Dr. Kevin Miller passed the peer award to Wendy Gower. Gower is the technology services office manager and has been with Huntington University for two years.
In recognizing Gower, Miller said, "If Wendy Gower were paid a dollar for every time she has pulled me out of a minor crisis - by getting me in touch with one of the technology guys when I'm in the middle of a class and the LCD projector won't work to unjamming the paper shredder to finding my keys hanging unattended in my mailbox door - she could retire early. She models the biblical description of a longsuffering servant in the quiet, efficient help she offers others while still completing her own demanding daily tasks. For all the interruptions you've so graciously suffered to help me and others, Wendy, this award is for you."
