Annual Activities

Get Involved!

Not sure how to get involved on campus? Still trying to decide which clubs or organizations you want to invest your four years in? Come and listen as representatives from a variety of clubs and organizations share their experiences. HU offers a variety different clubs and organizations for you.

  • FROSHMOSH

    • Held in August
    • The upperclassmen aren’t here yet. Freshmen are invited to party — HU style. Meet the rest of your incoming class, dance to some tunes, and enjoy a soft drink as we kick off the year celebrating your arrival.
  • HOE DOWN

    • Held in September
    • Ever wonder when would be an appropriate time to wear that flannel shirt tucked away in your closet? Now’s the time. Bust out the cowboy hats and the overalls. Dress in your country best and join the student body as we country line dance under the lights on “the mall.” A professional country line dancing instructor will teach students the moves and grooves to some popular country tunes. You won’t want to miss this night of boot-tapping, cowboy hat-tilting fun.
  • MOVIE ON THE LAWN

    • Held in September
    • Forget going to the drive-in. Grab a blanket and a friend or two and meet us on the lawn as we watch a movie classic under the stars next to the lake.
  • MUD VOLLEYBALL

    • Held in September
    • Let’s be honest, not many of us go rolling around in mud. Well, now, here’s your chance. Get a group of friends together and compete in a tournament of athletic prowess and muddy amusement. Warning: you might get muddy — but you will have fun.
  • ACOC

    • Held in September
    • Get ready for an all-campus retreat! Join the rest of the student body on this two-day expedition as we venture away from school to the rugged outdoors. Prepare yourself for games, fellowship, and memories that will last you a life-time.
  • POWDERPUFF SEASON

    • September - October
    • Women from across campus will lace up their cleats and take to the football fields in this two-week tournament. Join your floor and begin training for this exciting time of flag football. The championship game will kick off the HU Homecoming festivities.
  • LAZER X

    • Held in October
    • After a day of cleaning the community, join the rest of campus as we head to Fort Wayne and enjoy an evening of laser tag. For those who participate in Fall Work Day, admission is FREE.
  • OLYMPIAD

    • Held in October
    • Why are upperclassmen gathering massive amounts of body paint? It’s that time of year. Prepare for the biggest event to be held on campus. This epic weekend of activities places dorms into four teams. Each team competes in activities ranging from synchronized swimming to ultimate Frisbee. Only one team will walk away with bragging rights when it’s all said and done.
  • STUDY BREAK

    • Held in December
    • Put the books down! Take a break from studying for finals and grab some snacks and hot chocolate while hanging out with friends before we all leave for Christmas break.
