Sharing the gift of music in the classroom
Music is a gift, and the ability to teach music in a classroom setting can encourage and inspire students to connect with school in a unique way. As you study music education at Huntington University, you will be given the tools you need to decode the language of music and become more fluent in its complexities. You will be taught to make a positive impact in the lives of your students through dedicated and effective teaching methods while instilling a love for music in others, just as someone did for you.
Music Education Curriculum
The unique design of HU’s music education program allows you to glean insight and training from the faculty and staff in both the music department and the education department, giving you a well-rounded understanding of music education. Whether you concentrate on choral music, instrumental music, or general music, you’ll gain hands-on practice in conducting, choral literacy, various instruments and their techniques, and the foundations of music, helping you wield the power of music to benefit students in ways other disciplines cannot.
