Attract wildlife to your backyard

HUNTINGTON, IN - Marvin McNew, Head Nature Interpreter at Salamonie Reservoir, will speak at Thornhill Nature Preserve on Tuesday, June 4, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. McNew will give a lecture on how to set up a backyard to attract wildlife. He will teach those who attend about the plants to plant in a backyard and the seeds to use to attract birds, butterflies and other types of wildlife. McNew will also explain backyard habitat environment in both country and city environments and how to use the different components of a good habitat, such as food, water, shelter, space and arrangement. Refreshments will be served and admission is free.
