Burch, Trout receive November Peer Awards

Huntington, Ind.-Julie Goetz, coordinator of online education, passed the Peer Award to Dr. Beth Burch. Burch is associate professor of biology and has been with HU for 15 years. In recognizing Burch, Goetz wrote, "Beth Burch and I have worked together over the last two months to transition her Life Science class into a format that can be taught online. Beth has shown excitement and flexibility throughout the process. I appreciate the way she has kept a positive attitude even though it has been a great deal of work and a little outside of her comfort zone."

Shelia Hacker, assistant director of financial services, passed the Peer Award to Cathy Trout. Trout is administrative assistant to the vice president and dean of the university and has been with the university for eight years. In recognizing Trout, Hacker said, "I really appreciate the initiative that Cathy took in gathering a group of HU colleagues together to work on a standardized method to submit payroll authorization forms to me for processing. This is not something that anyone asked Cathy to organize. She saw a need and volunteered to coordinate the meeting. She took this initiative because she cares about others, and that is what we are all about at Huntington University."
