Digital media arts program to host Spring Showcase

Huntington, Ind.-Huntington University's digital media arts program will host the Spring Showcase at 7 p.m. on May 13 in the Zurcher Auditorium of the Merillat Centre for the Arts.

There is no admission charge, and the event is open to the public. Popcorn and pop will be available.

This event is a screening of student productions. All digital media arts students in animation and live action had the option to submit work to be featured. Students' work has been divided up into categories including animation, live action and senior projects. Once those projects have been shown, awards will be announced and then followed by a special raw and unplugged segment.

Some of the media to be featured in the Spring Showcase was already on display at the Graduating Digital Media Arts Majors Exhibit in the Robert E. Wilson Gallery that ended May 5. However, the Spring Showcase will present the completed version of those works.

"The senior exhibit takes place in the gallery setting and does not lend itself well to screening the finished production," explained Sandy Hartle, digital media arts assistant.
