Foresters collect donations for Katrina relief

Huntington, Ind. "The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the designation of the month of October as NAIA Katrina Relief Month in an effort to raise funds to assist member schools affected by the August disaster. The association has requested NAIA colleges and universities from across the country to contribute donations or revenue from ticket sales generated from one athletic contest during the month of October. The Huntington University Foresters have earmarked three contests to aid the NAIA fund drive. The Athletic Department will accept monetary donations at the men's soccer game on Saturday, October 8 at 2:00 p.m., the women's soccer game on Tuesday, October 11 at 3:30 p.m., and the women's volleyball game on Wednesday, October 19 at 7:00 p.m.
All proceeds generated from NAIA Katrina Relief Month will be distributed to the following NAIA member institutions in the affected area: Dillard University, Loyola University, Southern University-New Orleans, Xavier University and campuses of William Carey in New Orleans and Gulfport.
