HU Alpha Chi chapter awarded at national convention

HUNTINGTON, Ind. Huntington University's Indiana Beta Chapter of Alpha Chi, a prestigious academic honors society, was recognized at the Alpha Chi National Convention in St. Louis, Mo., on March 27-29.

Eleven members and two sponsors attended the convention. Daniel Binkoski, a senior entrepreneurial small business management, business management and economics and finance major from Whitmore Lake, Mich., and Will Stauffer, a senior communication studies major from Churubusco, Ind., won disciplinary presentation prizes at the convention for their papers.

Bronwen Fetters, a sophomore English writing and English literature major from Huntington, Ind., also was elected as student representative from Region V to the Alpha Chi National Council. Fetters will help plan next year's national convention.

The HU chapter was also selected by Region V as its nominee for the Alpha Chi President's Cup to be given to the outstanding chapter in Alpha Chi in 2015. HU previously won this award in 2001. The chapter was also recognized at the convention for being one of only 4 chapters out of more than 300 to receive the Alpha Chi Star Chapter award every year since its inception in 1996.
