HU faculty, students promote United Way through film

HUNTINGTON, Ind. Once again, the work of Huntington University film faculty, students and alumni is being shown around northeast Indiana as the United Way works to promote this year's campaign.

The video aims to raise funds through the United Way of Huntington County Annual Campaign for local organizations that are actively working in the areas of education, financial stability, health and wellness and crisis needs.

The film, produced by Dr. Lance Clark, professor of digital media arts film and communication, showcases the talents of local comedian David Dean.

"This year's film was a unique in that it focused on an inspirational comedic talk by David Dean instead of multiple locations," Clark said. "We had five cameras rolling at the same time to capture every possible aspect. The finished five-minute film was originally a 45-minute talk. Having an entire crew of HU alumni and students made this event extra special to film."

HU film students and alumni, Anthony Frederick (2013), Matt Craig (2013), Nathan Hartman (2010), junior Daniel Beaver and Mary Clark (2002), helped to create the film.

The film can be seen online at http://vimeo.com/72869695.

The mission of the United Way of Huntington County is to unite the community through visionary leadership, assessment of needs and the mobilization and dispersion of resources to enhance the quality of life for the citizens of Huntington County.
