Landhuis, Wickersham receive HU’s Barlow Book Award

HUNTINGTON, Ind. The Huntington University history department has honored students Amy Landhuis and Andrew Wickersham with the 2014 Barlow Book Award.Dr. Paul Michelson, distinguished professor of history, honored Landhuis, a senior history education major from Huntington, Ind., on behalf of her consistent effort in Michelson's seminar in Modern Europe.
Landhuis' seminar paper about the developments of Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini has been an entry in several scholarship competitions.
Wickersham, a senior history major from Huntington, Ind., was honored by Dr. Dwight Brautigam, professor of history, for his consistently outstanding work in Brautigam's seminar on Early Modern Europe.
Brautigam was impressed by Wickersham's insightful papers and book reviews prepared for his seminar.
The Barlow Book Award was established to recognize the work of outstanding students in the department of history's seminars as well as the memory of long-time history faculty member Jack P. Barlow Sr. for his profound interest in students and in the life of the mind.
