Leatherman, Michaud receive Ron Frank History Book Award

Huntington, Ind. " Huntington College history students, Mylana Leatherman and Joni Michaud, were recently named the 2004 recipients of the Ron Frank History Book Award. The award was established in 1973, in honor of Ron Frank, a Huntington College history major who passed away during the spring semester of his senior year. Donors to the fund wish to provide financial assistance to history majors at Huntington College while remembering the life of Ron Frank. Leatherman, a senior social studies education major from Shipshewana, Ind., and Michaud, a senior history major from Clarksville, Mich., were chosen for this award by the History Department faculty based on outstanding performances in Great Issues in European History, a seminar required for all history majors. Dr. Dwight Brautigam, professor of history, presented the awards at the Honors Convocation on Friday, February 13. Each student receives $100 worth of books for her own personal library, funded by the Ron Frank Memorial Endowment in History.
