Wendy Gower, technology services office manager and science building supervisor, passed the Peer Award to April Meyer. Meyer is admissions counselor and has been with HU for 1 year. In recognizing Meyer, Gower wrote, "April will never know how much her selfless act of kindness was appreciated by so many people. In March, the day before the HU women's softball team was to leave for a week long spring training trip to Florida, my husband, the HU women's softball coach, suffered a medical emergency and was unable to make the trip. The trip would have otherwise been cancelled, but April went well above and beyond and volunteered to take the team and all of the responsibilities that went along with the trip on such a short notice. April is a truly caring person to the students and the people that she works with. Thank you, April, for your gracious kindness."

Carlene Peters passes the Peer Award to Scott Raymond.
Carlene Peters, campus visit coordinator, passed the Peer Award to Scott Raymond. Raymond is managing director of retention and student success and has been with the university for 8 months. In recognizing Raymond, Peters said, "Scott has been an invaluable addition to the university. He not only brings a wealth of knowledge when it comes to student retention issues, but most of all he brings his heart and love for many students in need of an on-campus advocate. He goes out of his way trying to steer students in the right direction. He uses the majority of his lunch time meeting with students and showing how much he truly cares about student success. Thank you, Scott, for working as that liaison between students, faculty and staff, and caring about HU students."
