O’Hearn presents at the Indiana College English Association conference

Dr. Tamara O'Hearn, visiting instructor of English, presented a paper at the Indiana College English Association conference in Evansville, Ind., titled "Returning to The Circus in Winter by Cathy Day: Revisiting the Past, Communicating in the Present to Teach a Regional Story." The paper was based on a course unit she developed for her Perspectives in Literature course that included a field trip to Peru, Ind., speakers from the circus industry, Skyping with the author, Cathy Day, and a private viewing of the Circus in Winter adapted play (courtesy of the Virginia Ball Center, Ball State University) which is currently in negotiations to be shown on Broadway. Day was the keynote speaker for the conference and attended the presentation, publicizing the presentation and HU on her international Twitter feed and blog.
