Posegate, Repic to present ‘Collected Stories’

Huntington, Ind.-Seniors Rebekah Posegate and Deanna Repic will present "Collected Stories" by Donald Margulies as their senior theatre project at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 22 in the Studio Theatre of the Merillat Centre for the Arts. Admission is free.

"Our project is a little different from the senior projects which have been done the last few years," said Posegate, a theatre performance major from Lake Villa, Ill. "It is actually a full-length show that features two women and takes place over six years."

Posegate and Repic, a theatre performance major from Alquippa, Pa., read the script their freshman year and have planned to perform the piece ever since. They performed the final scene from the show during their freshman year and have been perfecting the piece since the spring of 2008.

The show feature two extremely intelligent characters - "Lisa Morrison" played by Repic and "Ruth Steiner" played by Posegate - and their stories portray a very real relationship between a mentor and student. Both Posegate and Repic say they relate well to their characters.

Posegate has held numerous roles on the Huntington University stage including the title role in "The House of Bernarda Alba" and "Helena" in Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream." Repic, too, has had her share of leading roles such as "Jo" in "Little Women: The Musical" and "Vladimir" in "Waiting for Godot."
