Students crown Homecoming King and Queen

Huntington, Ind. "Huntington College students crowned their Homecoming King and Queen on Friday, October 6, 2000 in a well attended evening ceremony on the Alumni Plaza. Cameron Warner of Bluffton, Ohio, was named Homecoming King. Cameron will graduate in May with a degree in history education. He has been an active member of the college's Joe Mertz Center for Volunteer Service, giving his time to Adapt-A-Grandparent, Pathfinder Services, and the Bridges tutoring program. In addition, he has served as a member of Student Senate, as a resident assistant, and as a freshman mentor. An outstanding student, Cameron is a member of Alpha Chi, the national collegiate honor society.
Janelle Simpson of Pendleton, Indiana, was crowned Homecoming Queen. She is a senior at Huntington College pursuing a degree in psychology. During her college career, Janelle has volunteered time to Nurturing Parents, Bridges, Youth for Christ, Kids Club, and First Church of the Nazarene's children's church. In addition, she has participated in several mission trips and helped organize the mid-week, student-led worship service. Janelle has also served as a resident assistant, freshman mentor, and member of Judicial Council.
Other Huntington College seniors nominated for the honor included Mr. John Warden of Cincinnati, Ohio, Ms. Bethany Ashley of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Mr. Cris Rupp of Blissfield Michigan, Ms. Molly Spragg of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Mr. Pat Pettyjon of Auburn, Indiana, and Ms. Sera Lightcap of Woodburn, Indiana.
