Students take first in state broadcasting competition

HUNTINGTON, Ind. Two Huntington University were recognized in the 2013 Indiana Association of School Broadcasters' College Broadcasting Competition Awards.

Shawn Franklin, a senior film production major from Marietta, Ga., won first place in the Entertainment Video category for "For Glory." See it online at http://foresterfilms.com/for-glory/.

Anthony Frederick, a senior film production major from Portage, Ind., won first place in the Videography category for "Freehauf." See it online at http://foresterfilms.com/freehauf/.

This state broadcasting competition received 162 entries from seven schools this year.

"The Indiana Association of School Broadcasters is one of the most competitive student media contests in the state, and to have two first place winners against schools like Ball State and Indiana University says a lot about the level of education our students are receiving in our digital media arts program at HU," said Dr. Lance Clark, professor of digital media arts film and communication. "We are so proud of Shawn and Anthony who demonstrate the team aspect of our filmmaking program at HU."
