Tan elected new student body president

HUNTINGTON, Ind. In a record-breaking election on March 7, Huntington University junior Aron Tan won his dream job student body president.

Tan, an economics and finance and history double major from the Netherlands, decided to run for student body president after serving as a senator-at-large and the international student representative on Student Senate for a year.

"I'm looking forward to having the ability to make a difference, to serve the student body and to work toward getting them more involved," Tan said. "We can make a difference on our campus if we all come together and speak with one voice."

Tan ran against the incumbent student body president, sophomore ministry and missions major Luke McConnell, and junior film major Matthew Whitney. Tan won the election with 45 percent of the vote.
