U.S. Military to be honored during November Foundation Breakfast

Col. David AugustineHUNTINGTON, Ind. On Nov. 7, the Huntington University Foundation will honor past and present U.S. Military servicemen and women during its monthly breakfast.

During the breakfast, Col. David Augustine, from the 122nd Fighter Wing of the Indiana Air National Guard in Fort Wayne, will give an update on the status of the base and how it serves the community. The 122nd Fighter Wing provides support in national and state emergencies as well as education opportunities in the area.

Also, Rodney Funk, state commander of the VFW, will welcome all veterans. The Huntington County resident oversees 168 posts statewide.

In recognition of their service, all past and present members of the U.S. military will be provided with a free breakfast for the morning. Prior RSVP is required.

The Foundation breakfast is open to the public. It will begin at 7:45 a.m. in the Habecker Dining Commons and conclude by 9 a.m. The cost of the breakfast is $7. First-time attendees eat free courtesy of Bailey-Love Mortuary.

Since 1938, the Huntington University Foundation has assisted Huntington County residents who attend Huntington University through the annual Huntington County Grant and endowed scholarships. The foundation also supports community arts events.
