University to host Visiting Executive Seminar

Huntington, Ind.-Huntington University will host a Visiting Executive Seminar on March 27 at 8:30 a.m. in the Habecker Dining Commons. The seminar brings together business leaders and Huntington University business students to discuss important issues in today's business world. Led by Jim O'Donnell, associate professor of business and executive-in-residence, and Dr. Ann McPherren, interim president of the university, this seminar will focus on the economic and financial crisis.

Attendees will examine two articles to frame a discussion and debate about human costs of the Great Market Meltdown. The first piece is from Yahoo! News, dated Jan. 6, and deals with victims of Bernard Madoff's Ponzi scheme.
The other article is a New York Times story from Jan. 31 titled "Peaceful Clinic Flooded with Patients with their own Fiscal Crises." This article looks into the suffering of some very successful people who, outwardly, probably had charmed lives, seemed happy and in control of their lives. But the financial crisis hit and now has knocked them, along with lots of others, for a loop, and today they are seeking professional help.
