Women’s auxiliary says ‘thank you’

Huntington, Ind.-The 19th annual HU Women's Auxiliary Garage Sale Benefit has brought in funds that have exceeded those of all of the past sales with a total of $1280. While the average income for the sales nears $800, the former top was reached in 2001 when the sale took in $1209. Meadows Hall second-floor lounge has received new furniture which is being funded by the auxiliary projects this year.

First of all, major thanks always goes to the maintenance staff who provide space, personnel, equipment and donations for the event.

Grace McBrayer and Josh Lawrence with the Joe Mertz volunteers excelled with their assistance in Saturday morning sale presentation and the noon packing for the Salvation Army and cleanup. A "big time" thanks to all of you.

Again, the Sorting Committee "miracle workers" were led by Kelly Berggren and Judy Campbell, along with Rhonda Dilley, Vickie Lipsey, Sue Nunamaker, Lizzie O'Donnell, JoAnn Rowley, Elizabeth Smith and Ruth Seilhamer. The sales crew included Sue Cherry, Eldon and Loretta Dutcher, Barb Fetters, Audrey Fetters, Paul and Barbara Fetters, Joyce Howald, Carol Hill, Pat Jones and Helen Sweetland. The clean-up committee was led by Jean Michelson and Sharon Custer. Thanks, thanks again!

Countless contributors and shoppers brought life to the event. We extend to all of you the sincere appreciation of the Habitat Restore and from Tami Leeper, coordinator of the Shepherd's Closet, who have also benefited from the collection. The "rest of the story" goes to the Salvation Army, Fort Wayne.
