World-renowned New Testament scholar to speak at Huntington University
FOR RELEASE: Monday, April 7, 2014HUNTINGTON, Ind. Dr. Doug Moo, world-renowned New Testament scholar and author of several important works in Biblical studies, will be the speaker for the second-annual Bergdall Endowed Lectureship on Biblical Studies at 7 p.m. April 22 at Huntington University.
His presentation, titled "The Hope of Righteousness: The Christian and Final Justification," will take place in the Zurcher Auditorium of the Merillat Centre for the Arts on campus. The lecture, hosted by the Huntington University Bible and Religion faculty, is free and open to the public.
Moo, the Blanchard Professor of New Testament at Wheaton College, is the author of more than 15 scholarly books and commentaries and one of the most widely-used New Testament introductory textbooks on the market. One of his most recent publications is his widely-acclaimed commentary on Paul's letter to the Galatians in the Baker Exegetical Commentary series. Moo is one of the most widely-respected and sought-after speakers in America and is one of the world's leading evangelical spokespersons.
The Bergdall lectureship is named in honor of Dr. Chaney Bergdall, professor emeritus of Bible and religion, who retired from the university in 2012.
