Worship band Güngör to perform March 27

HUNTINGTON, Ind. The Denver-based musical group Güngör is coming to Huntington University's Zurcher Auditorim of the Merillat Centre for the Arts at 7:30 p.m. March 27.

This Grammy-nominated worship band is comprised of Michael Güngör, his wife Lisa and friend Josh Harvey. Güngör is self-described as defying the rules of modern music making and instead bringing the audience "simply the honest musical response of (a band) that sees the world as a beautifully complicated place."

Lead singer, Michael Güngör, is best known for co-writing distinguished songs such as "Friend of God" and "Say So" made famous by Israel Houghton. The group released its newest album, "Ghosts Upon the Earth," on Sept. 20, 2011. In 2011, the song and the album "Beautiful Things" were nominated for "Best Gospel Song" and "Best Rock or Rap Gospel Album," respectively, at the Grammies.

Tickets are $15 for general admission, $13 for seniors and students, $11 for HU faculty and staff and $5 for HU students. Tickets are available exclusively through iTickets at http://www.itickets.com/events/274590.html or at the door that night.
