Mentoring Meals

We’re trying something new this semester to encourage quality interaction between students on the Huntington, Indiana, campus and our teaching faculty, called Mentoring Meals!

Students have the ability to invite a faculty member to meet for lunch in the Dining Commons. This is designed for you to talk with a faculty member about a class, get career advice, or just think through life’s questions. The faculty member gets a free lunch, and you get a great conversation. (If you’re on a limited meal plan or no meal plan, your lunch is free, too!)

Process:

· Make an appointment with a professor to meet for lunch. Let the professor know what you want to talk about.

· Meet at the DC and go to the check-in stand together. Say you’re there for a Mentoring Meal.

· The faculty member’s lunch is free. If you are on Meal Plan A or B, you can just swipe your card. If you are on Meal Plan C or you don’t have a meal plan, your lunch will be free as well.

Guidelines:

· Mentoring Meals can only be used at Habecker Dining Commons

· A student can initiate up to three Mentoring Meals per semester

· The program is designed for one or two students to have lunch with a faculty member to discuss a specific topic
