HUNTINGTON, Ind. The Huntington University Peer Award recipients for November are Anita Gray, director of library services, and Joni Killian, adjunct instructor in music.

The Peer Award, which began in 2003, promotes acknowledgment and recognition of the outstanding efforts of Huntington University faculty and staff members. Award winners are chosen and recognized each month by fellow peers.

Gray was recognized by Shelly Francka, director of the Adult Degrees Program, because of her willingness and passion to serve HU students, staff and faculty.

"Her desire to support the HU community is evident in her positive attitude, communication and service. She often exceeds the expectations of students and staff by creating an awareness of available services and resources," Francka said. "This dedication to support students with their research and various studies is an asset and a blessing to the university."

Killian was recognized by Melissa Duffer, adjunct instructor in theater and resident choreographer, because of her talent in the HU productions.

"She is a gifted vocalist and musician, and I have observed her tirelessly work with the students in order for them to perform to the best of their abilities," Duffer said. "She is encouraging, always has a smile on her face and her love for her work constantly shines through. I greatly appreciate her dedication to the students and to music as an art."
