HU education graduates rank top in state

HUNTINGTON, Ind. More than 87 percent of education graduates from Huntington University find jobs in their fields within six months of graduation. And now, test results from the state show they are well prepared for the task.

According to results from the Indiana Department of Education, HU ranks No. 1 in the state for social studies content and is tied for first in the exceptional needs (special education) category in the Praxis II results for 2009/10. The Praxis tests are the exams for Indiana licensure. These are the most recent results.

Huntington scored an average 191 in the social studies content area and scored an average 189 on the exceptional needs test. The passing scores were 147 and 156, respectively.
