HU Foundation exceeds $75,000 goal for scholarships

HUNTINGTON, Ind. The Huntington University Foundation has exceeded its goal of raising $75,000 for scholarships during its 75th anniversary. Currently, donations are more than $165,000.

"We are so grateful to our donors who went above and beyond our expectations," said Ed Vessels, president of the Foundation. "This money does so much to help students in our community gain a Christ-centered education at Huntington University."

Since 1938, the Huntington University Foundation has assisted Huntington County residents who attend Huntington University through the annual Huntington County Grant and endowed scholarships. Approximately 20 percent of HU students come from Huntington County, and these funds play a large role in opening a door for their education.

The Foundation's purpose since formation has always been, "To promote education and all things pertaining thereto and especially to promote the interest of Huntington College of Huntington, Indiana. To promote the interest of said college, financially and otherwise, in all legal methods, and to do all other things necessary to carry out such purposes."
