Peace to address “The Necessity for Passion” in teaching profession

HUNTINGTON, Ind.- Dr. Terrell Peace, chair of the Department of Education at Huntington University and outgoing president of The Association of Teacher Educators (ATE), will speak on "The Necessity for Passion" in the teaching profession on April 13, 2011, at 7 p.m. at Huntington University. The event will be hosted in the upper-level banquet rooms of the Habecker Dining Commons by the Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education and will mark the conclusion of Peace's service as ATE president.

During his leadership of ATE, Peace shared his platform, "Reigniting the Passion and Purpose for Teaching," which has inspired educators and leaders around the world. His April 13 address at Huntington University will explore this theme as he shares secrets to professional success in education.

Peace was elected to the national board of the Association of Teacher Educators in 2000 and was named president in 2010.

The Association of Teacher Educators was founded in 1920 and is the only national, individual membership organization devoted solely to the improvement of teacher education for both school and campus-based teacher educators. ATE members represent over 650 colleges and universities, 500 major school systems, and the majority of the state departments of education.
