"My goal for each CD has been to offer a resource of peace, comfort and hope for those going through difficult times," Spedden said. "This third CD is particularly close to my heart because it is dedicated to my beloved mother. Its preparation spanned the time of caring for her as her health slowly declined, her passage to Heaven in June 2011, and a gradual recovery from the grief of losing my lifelong Christian mentor and friend."

A native of New York City and winner of several concerto competitions as well as awards for piano performance, Spedden has appeared as a piano soloist with symphony orchestras in the East and Midwest. She frequently performs solo and chamber music professionally, and has presented a number of scholarly papers.

She holds bachelor's, master's and doctorate degrees in piano performance and has studied with Beveridge Webster, Pia Sebastiani, and Menahem Pressler.
