HUNTINGTON, Ind. Huntington University has gone out to the ballgame.
In
continuation of a long partnership, Huntington University is now
sponsoring the picnic pavilion at Parkview Field in Fort Wayne, Ind.,
the home of TinCaps baseball.
Huntington University has been a
proud partner of the Fort Wayne minor league baseball for more than 10
seasons beginning with the Wizards and then following the team's move to
Parkview Field as the TinCaps. Huntington has been involved by
sponsoring the foul poles, the outfield signs and hosting a 300-person
student orientation event each year. The new Huntington University
Picnic Pavilion allows for the university to extend its partnership with
the team and share more of its mission with the Fort Wayne community.
"We
are excited to be able to showcase Huntington University in such a
unique way within the ballpark," said Jeff Berggren, senior vice
president for enrollment management and marketing. "We encourage all of
our students, alumni and friends to show their Forester pride by going
to Parkview Field this season and checking out the HU Picnic Pavilion.
TinCaps baseball is a true family friendly activity, and Parkview Field
has one of the best fan experiences in the nation. Huntington loves to
partner with high-quality organizations, and the TinCaps certainly meet
that standard."
The partnership with the TinCaps officially
began in 2001 at Memorial Stadium with the Fort Wayne Wizards and will
continue for many years to come.
"Personally, I am honored to
partner with an institution that is centered on Christ. Scholarship.
Service. It is a breath of fresh air to work with like-minded,
Christ-centered individuals that want to work on partnership and not
one-sided relationships," said Mike Nutter, TinCaps president. "As the
parent of an 8 year old and a 9 year old, I can honestly say it would be
an absolute pleasure if one of our kids decided to attend Huntington
University. I know the quality of individuals associated with the
college and the great education and sports options it provides."
