Parkview to highlight December Foundation Breakfast

HUNTINGTON, Ind. On Dec. 12, the Huntington University Foundation will give the community a chance to hear how Parkview Huntington Hospital is continuing to serve the county and the surrounding areas. During the monthly breakfast, Mike Perkins, foundation director for Parkview Huntington Hospital, and Dr. Duane Hougendobler, a Huntington pediatrician, will discuss the opening of the hospital's new autism center. The center will open in early 2013 and will provide therapeutic and rehabilitation services for children age 2 to 18 and support groups for their families.
Also, Dr. Ann McPherren, senior vice president for strategy at HU, will share the university's involvement with the Life Science Education and Research Consortium of Northeast Indiana at the Parkview Randallia campus in Fort Wayne.
The Foundation breakfast is open to the public. It will begin at 7:45 a.m. in the Habecker Dining Commons and conclude by 9 a.m. The cost of the breakfast is $7. First-time attendees eat free courtesy of Bailey-Love Mortuary.

Since 1938, the Huntington University Foundation has assisted Huntington County residents who attend Huntington University through the annual Huntington County Grant and endowed scholarships. The foundation also supports community arts events.
