From Fan to Staff: Radosevich Finds His Place with the TinCaps

Miriam Kline

A year ago, if you had asked sports management major Drew Radosevich where he hoped to build a career, he would have said baseball, specifically, with the Fort Wayne TinCaps. Today, that dream has become a reality. After completing an internship with the team this past season, Radosevich has accepted a full-time position with the organization.

As a Fort Wayne native, Radosevich always envisioned staying local while pursuing a career in sports management. The TinCaps offered the perfect fit. Over the course of the season, he worked 63 out of 66 home games, spending May through September immersed in the fast-paced environment of minor league baseball. The work was demanding and heavily customer-service oriented, but for Radosevich, it felt more like a calling than a job.

“I think it was just really cool to be in the ballpark every day,” Radosevich said. “It’s cliché to say that when you love your job, it doesn’t feel like a job, because I know you hear that all the time. But it’s truly like, it didn’t feel like work to me.”

Alongside hands-on experience, Radosevich built strong relationships and grew in his faith. He appreciated the intentional leadership of team president Mike Nutter, who incorporates his Christian values into the ballpark culture. From Bible verses posted around the office to pre-game prayers for safety and good weather, Radosevich saw how faith could intersect meaningfully with the sports industry.

Radosevich is eager to continue developing and ultimately advance within the baseball world.
