Hendryx named interim VP for business at HU

Julie Hendryx, Huntington University, a Christian collegeHUNTINGTON, Ind. Huntington University has named Julie Hendryx as the interim vice president for business and finance.

Hendryx came to the university in 2002 as the director of human resources and auxiliary services. In her role, she will be responsible for the oversight of university finances, physical plant, auxiliary services, human resources and technology services. She replaces Tom Ayers who is leaving the university after 17 years to become the vice president for administration and business at Kettering University in Flint, Mich.

"Julie Hendryx has a proven track record and outstanding strategic leadership abilities," said HU President G. Blair Dowden. "She has wonderful people and administrative skills and the ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff and external stakeholders. I feel that she will do an excellent job in this new role."

Hendryx graduated from Huntington in 1999 with a major in business management and minors in marketing and accounting. She also holds an MBA from the University of Saint Francis. She serves as a member and chair of the Trustee Committee at Faith Chapel United Methodist Church and coaches basketball at the YMCA. She previously served as the interim vice president for business and finance in 2009 during Ayers' administrative sabbatical.

Effective July 1, Hendryx will serve in the interim role through May 2013 while a search process is conducted.
