Joe Mertz Center hosts February blood drive

HUNTINGTON, Ind. Huntington University's Joe Mertz Center for Volunteer Service will host a blood drive from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 20 in the upper level of the Habecker Dining Commons on campus.

The Joe Mertz Center hosts four blood drives each year in conjunction with the American Red Cross.

Individuals who donate have the opportunity to enter in a regional drawing to win a deluxe package. The prize includes two VIP tickets to the NCAA Sweet 16 and Elite 8 Midwest Regional games at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis as well as lodging accommodations and a $250 Visa gift card.

Individuals who are interested in donating blood may register online at www.givelife.org or in person in the dining commons at Huntington University. Walk-ins are also acceptable, but everyone participating must have a photo ID. The blood drive is open to the public.

The JMC is also asking for volunteers to help on the day of the drive.
