Troy Irick joins Huntington College advancement team

Huntington, Ind. " Troy Irick has accepted appointment as Managing Director of Development and Community Relations at Huntington College. In this position, Irick will play a key role in the overall fundraising efforts of the college.

Irick graduated from Huntington College in 1985, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in business with concentrations in accounting and economics. After a year as a staff accountant with Coopers and Lybrand, Irick worked ten years with American Express Tax & Business Services (formerly Ruckman Associates, Inc.). In 1996, he became vice president and chief financial officer of M&S Industrial Metal Fabricators, Inc. Three years later, he was appointed president of the company and assumed responsibility for all day-to-day operations, including accounting, human resources, management information services, manufacturing, engineering, and quality control.

Irick has been an active member of the Huntington County community. He served on the Huntington County Community School Board from 1997 to 2001, including a term as president during the 2000-2001 school year. He also served on the Huntington City Board of Public Works and Safety from 1995 to 1997, and was a member of the City of Huntington's Common Wage Committee in 2001. He has been an instructor for Junior Achievement, and has taught as an adjunct professor at Ivy Tech and Huntington College.

In his new role at Huntington College, Irick will responsible for fundraising efforts focused on Huntington County and the regional community. He will provide direct staff support to the Huntington College Foundation, helping to organize its annual scholarship fund drive. Irick will also provide leadership to the Advancement Office's field staff.

Huntington College has just completed a comprehensive capital campaign, raising a total of $43 million, including $7.8 million in gifts and pledges from individuals and businesses in Huntington County. The Campaign allowed Huntington College to construct a new, state-of-the-art science building, complete other key campus improvements, expand its endowment, and increase annual support.
