Alumna publishes devotional book
FOR RELEASE: Wednesday, June 8, 2011
HUNTINGTON, Ind. A 1972 Huntington University graduate has published a devotional book titled, "Listen to HIS Heartbeat: Drawing from HIS Presence."The book by Linda Rose Etter, of Adrian, Mich., is full of 75 devotionals which are dedicated to teaching the message that God created people to fellowship with him moment by moment. Etter uses powerful examples of God teaching her his word and conversations they shared. Chapter titles such as "God's One-Liners," "You Can't Pull a Goat" and "God Uses Sump Pumps and Burning Bushes" will pique the reader's curiosity. The result is a book that not only entertains but teaches as well.
"Many devotionals are too serious and don't show that God has a good sense of humor and wants our fellowship," Etter said. "Or they are funny and don't include very much of what the Bible says, and so they aren't much of a teaching tool. I include a lot of Scripture and teach what the Bible says with a nice mix of humor."
The book was published through Xulon Press, a division of Salem Communications. It is the world's largest Christian publisher with more than 8,000 titles published to date.
Etter graduated from Huntington with a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education, health and recreation.
The book is available online at Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble.com, XulonPress.com and from Etter at etterl@frontier.com.
